Summer Camp Staff

OLIVIA GERINGER-SPAGNOLA – CAMP Director

Olivia Geringer-Spagnola is in charge of and the director for the Beecher Part-Time Player’s Kid’s Summer Theatre Camp, along with help from Keilani Haddon.  Olivia goes to Beecher High School and has lived in Beecher pretty much all her life, also working a part-time job at Cardinal Creek Golf Course, and staying very local.  Last summer, she was co-director of the camp along with Josie Hurling and Stephen Gionatti for the kids’ performances of Peter Pan.  Not only has Olivia helped out with the camp the year prior to last, she also had been a camper herself from the very first year the camp was created and available to kids, where they only learned how to sing a song, dance to the hit song “Barbie Girl”, and perform a short skit in front of an audience.  The following four years, she continued to participate in the camp, performing in Seussical the Musical, Jr., Shrek the Musical, Jr., The Little Mermaid, Jr., and sadly her last summer able to participate was mostly cut off due to the virus, but was still able to learn and perform a skit, learn a dance, and learn the ASL (American Sign Language) version of “The Circle of Life” from movie The Lion King.  In high school, Olivia participated in the Drama Club second semester of her sophomore year, when it was finally available to students again, she was Mrs. Peacock in the school production of Clue.  Although during her junior year Drama Club was available for her, she was unable to participate as an actress due to many other commitments in and out of school, but still made it to the shows in the fall taking pictures and videos for her fellow actors on the stage, and in the spring as the Dance Captain, helping choreograph some of the dances for their musical.  One major commitment in Olivia’s life is dance, which she has been a part of the same dance studio, LM Premier Dance in Cedar Lake, Indiana(former Lynn Marie’s School of Dance in Beecher, Illinois), going on 15 years now.  At the studio, she has been dancing competitively going on 8 years, being on a variety of teams but specifically on two National Champion teams.  The types of dances vary from ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap, and acro, all of which she enjoys greatly, especially when surrounded by her wonderful teammates who make the studio the bright, happy, safe-space it is.  In school, Olivia is a part of many activities and clubs, those of which being:  National Honors Society, Junior Class President, Student Council, Spanish Club, Math Team, band, and choir, all of these along with Drama Club, and dance.
